Rant: Stop overcleaning your clippers with spray every 5 minutes
I used to hit my Oster 76s with clipper spray between every single head, thinking I was keeping them in good shape. Then my buddy at the shop on 3rd Street told me I was just pushing hair and debris deeper into the blade and drying out the pivot. He showed me how a quick brush and one spray at the end of the day keeps things running way smoother. Has anyone else noticed their blades lasting longer after they cut back on the spray?

Yeah I did the same thing for way too long. Once I backed off to just a brush and one spray at the end of the day my blades started lasting twice as long before they needed sharpening.

Wait, has anyone tested if the overcleaning actually strips the factory coating faster? @johnthompson I noticed the same thing and wonder if the spray solvents ate into mine before I backed off. Might be worth checking with a magnifier if youve got scuffs showing sooner than expected.
