Thought those $80 Japanese steel shears were just hype. Bought a pair for a tough job in Phoenix last month and they cut through thick hair like butter.

Wait, you used them in Phoenix heat? That's the real shocker for me. I had a cheap pair go totally dull and sticky just from the summer humidity back east. I figured that dry Arizona air would be a dream for any tool. But for them to work that well in brutal heat says a lot. Maybe the hype is real after all.

Hold up, you're actually surprised by that? The dry heat here is no joke, stuff can turn brittle or just plain melt if it's crap quality. But yeah, these had a decent grip that didn't turn into a sticky mess after a half hour of yard work. The metal held its edge way better than I expected, too. Honestly, it just proves you get what you pay for with that company.
