Warning: That new clipper blade sharpening guy wrecked my favorite Wahl senior set
I dropped off my go-to clippers at a pop-up sharpening stall at the flea market out on Route 9 last Saturday. The guy promised a 10 minute turnaround but took over an hour, and when I tested them on a practice head, the blade was chattering and pulling hair bad. I had to redo a whole fade on a regular client because the line was so choppy, cost me $35 in lost time and product. I went back the next day and he was already gone, no sign or nothing. Any of you ever get burned by a mobile sharpener passing through?

Hear me out, but that might not have been the sharpener's fault. If the blade is chattering and pulling, it could just be that the blade itself was already worn out or had a burr on it before you brought it in. I have seen guys blame the sharpener when their own blade was just done and needed to be replaced anyway. How do you know it was sharp and cutting clean before you dropped it off?

My uncle runs a sharpening shop and I used to side with the customer EVERY time, but after watching him reject blades that were already cracked or chipped I totally changed my tune.
