Banned from a Discord for a screenshot I didn't even mean to post
Ngl, I was in this fan server for a niche indie game, and I accidentally pasted a screenshot from a private chat with a friend. It had some dumb inside joke about a mod, not even a big deal. The mod gave me a warning, but then another user kept reporting it until I got banned. It stuck with me because I realized how one person can weaponize rules to mess with you, even when you didn't mean harm. Anyone else get banned over something accidental like that?

Yeah you nailed it with the "bounty hunter" thing. I've been in servers where dudes have nothing better to do than scroll back three weeks just to report a jokey message. Best move is to screenshot the mod's warning and the report history, then message the server owner directly. Most owners don't even know their mods are bending over for one annoying user. I've gotten two bans reversed that way just by showing the owner the pattern. Also, turn off message history access if you can, or delete stuff after a day. Give them less ammo to work with.

The real issue here is how some servers let certain users act like bounty hunters, constantly combing through old messages to dig up rule violations. That kind of behavior turns a community into a toxic police state where everyone watches their back instead of having fun. Did that mod ever explain why they caved to the reports instead of just closing the ticket?
