Can we talk about getting banned from a local Facebook group for posting a link to a city council meeting archive?

I posted a direct link to the official city video archive of a meeting, but the admin said it was 'unverified news' and banned me, which made me realize that posting a screenshot of the same video link from a different user's post, which they allowed, was the only way to share factual info there.

The "too confusing" excuse is just a way to keep control. They don't want people checking the facts for themselves.

That "unverified news" thing is wild. I got booted from a neighborhood group for posting the actual city zoning map. The admin said it was "too confusing" and people should just trust the summary posts from some random guy who always gets the details wrong.

Oh man, that's nuts. It reminds me of when my friend tried to post the official park rules for our dog park in a community group, and the mods deleted it for "promoting conflict" (which is wild, right?). It's the same energy as what happened to you, @susan_black82, with the zoning map. The facts just get in the way of whatever story they're trying to tell.
