Got banned from a hiking group for mentioning a trail reroute
I was in this local Arizona hiking Facebook group for about 2 years and posted about a trail near Sedona that got rerouted due to flood damage. The admin called it fake news and permabanned me without warning. Has anyone else been booted from a group just for sharing updated info?

Wait, is this really that big of a deal? I mean getting banned from a Facebook group kinda sucks but its just a hiking page not your job or anything. If the admin is that quick to hit the ban button over a trail reroute then they probably run a crappy group anyway. You can just join a different one or find trail info on AllTrails or the forest service site itself. Seems like a waste of energy to get worked up over it.

Whoa hold up, that seems kinda harsh for just sharing trail info. I get that mods want to keep things accurate but a permaban for a reroute? Thats extreme. Especially if you had a source like a forest service update or something. Ive seen groups get weird about stuff like that though, they think any change is some kind of conspiracy. Hope you find a better group that actually wants current info.
