Got banned from a local Facebook group for posting about a protest
Our town had a vote on a new school policy last month. I shared a link to a news article about a planned protest against it. The group rules said no 'political campaigning,' but I thought sharing factual news was okay. The admin said I was 'inciting division' and banned me immediately, no warning. On one hand, I get that groups want to keep things calm. On the other, banning people for sharing a local news story feels like heavy censorship. Has anyone else been banned for something they considered just sharing information?

Was it really just sharing info though?

Worked for me when I just asked them directly.

@matthewh28 Honestly, asking directly has been hit or miss for me. My cousin tried that with his neighbor about their fence line and it turned into a whole property dispute that lasted months. Sometimes people just get defensive even when you're being straight with them.
