Got banned from a local gardening swap for posting a photo of my mint harvest
One lady commented that mint was 'invasive and irresponsible to grow' and reported me to the mods. Still not sure if I should just stick to tomatoes next time or find a less picky group.

Huh, I used to be one of those people who thought mint was harmless and easy to grow. But then I planted some in my raised bed two years ago and it literally took over everything. I'm still pulling runners out from under the tomatoes and carrots. Now I only grow it in a big pot on my patio, and I totally get why some groups are strict about it. It's not just being picky, it's keeping the whole swap from turning into a mint farm.

I've heard people say mint only spreads by runners, but actually it can also drop seeds if it flowers, so even a potted plant needs monitoring. Keeping the flowers cut back before they go to seed makes a big difference in keeping it contained. Just a heads up from someone who learned that one the hard way too.
