Got banned from a neighborhood app for asking about a stray cat, and the mod's reply was one line
Six days ago I posted on Nextdoor in the Fairmount area of Fort Worth asking if anyone knew who owned a gray tabby that kept sleeping on my porch. No photo, no address, just the cross streets. The post got removed in under 20 minutes and I got a 30 day ban from posting. I messaged the mod to ask why and the reply was, "No lost pet posts." That's the entire message. The thing is, the app's own rules page says lost pet posts are fine if you tag them right, and I did tag it. I checked the community guidelines three times to make sure I read it correctly. What bugs me is that two people replied before it got yanked, and one of them said the cat lives three houses down. So the ban didn't even stop the answer, it just stopped me from saying thanks. Has anyone else gotten a ban from a neighborhood app with a reason that doesn't match the actual rules on their own site?
