Got booted from a recipe forum for calling out a safety issue
I posted in a big baking group that a popular 'no-knead' bread recipe floating around could be dangerous because it called for leaving dough out for 18 hours in a warm kitchen, which is a food safety risk. The mods said I was 'fearmongering' and banned me after a single warning. Has anyone else been banned for pointing out a genuine hazard, or is that just how these groups are now?

Honestly, that tracks. You tried to stop someone from getting sick and got treated like you yelled fire in a theater. The groupthink in those spaces is wild, they'd rather protect a trendy recipe than admit it might send people to the bathroom for a week. Guess they want their members to learn about food safety the hard way.
