Got kicked out of a Facebook group for saying I didn't trust a "reverse diet" coach, then I looked into her actual credentials
I got banned from a fitness group back in March after I told a member not to pay $300 a month to a coach in Phoenix who claimed she could "fix your metabolism" with a 900 calorie plan. I assumed the whole thing was a scam because it looked like one, but when I actually checked her client page, she had before and after photos with dates and a real certification number I could look up. Still got booted for "negativity" though, and the admin messaged me saying I was hurting people's progress. Has anyone else been removed from a group just for asking for proof of someone's credentials?
Getting banned for asking about proof is backwards. If her cert checked out and the pics had dates, then you did the work and still got the boot. Most of these groups don't want questions, they want people buying.
But a 900 calorie plan is still a red flag no matter how good the credentials look. Plenty of certified trainers push stuff that isn't safe. Being legit and being right aren't the same thing.
