Got the boot from a gardening group for saying my $40 soil test kit was a waste

Everyone there swore by these mail-in kits you send to a lab, saying they're the only way to get accurate results. I bought one last spring thinking it would help my tomatoes... but the report just told me stuff I already knew from a basic store kit. The real issue turned out to be my watering schedule, not the soil. When I posted that the expensive test didn't fix anything, they said I was spreading bad advice and removed me. Has anyone else had a group get mad when a paid tool didn't solve the problem?

What's the over-under on getting kicked out of a compost forum for admitting I just eyeball it? I dropped fifty bucks on a fancy moisture meter that just confirmed my pile is, in fact, damp.

Groups hate when expensive advice turns out useless.
