Serious question, got a 30-day ban from a hiking forum for a trail condition photo
I posted a picture of a washed-out section on the Mist Falls trail in Kings Canyon last week, and the mods said it was 'unverified fear-mongering'. I just wanted people to know it was sketchy before they went. Has anyone else been banned for sharing what they thought was a simple safety heads-up?

Unverified fear-mongering" is a new one. I got a warning once for saying a bridge looked like it was held together by wishes and a rusty bolt.

Three years ago I posted a photo of a gas station canopy that had a crack running through the whole middle and a metal pole holding it up. The city's code enforcement page sent me a message within 2 hours saying I was "creating panic" and "spreading unsubstantiated claims about public safety." They literally tried to get the post removed because someone might think the gas station was going to collapse. I pointed out that nobody had even replied to the post yet so who exactly was panicking. Never heard back from them after that.
