Vent: Got booted from a local hiking group for warning about that trail near Boulder
I posted a heads up about the rattlesnake nest I found off the Mesa Trail last Friday, and admin said I was 'fearmongering' and removed me. Has anyone else been banned from a group for just trying to keep people safe?

My buddy Ben literally got booted from a Denver trail running group for posting a photo of a mountain lion track he found near Golden. He just wanted people to know it was out there, not to start a panic. @elliot_miller22 sounds like you ran into the same kind of group mentality, where they'd rather bury their heads than let people make their own call. The admin told Ben he was "creating unnecessary drama" and removed him from the page. Two weeks later, someone else spotted the same cat and the whole group was in an uproar about it.

Got kicked out of a local fishing forum once for posting a photo of a snapping turtle I spotted near a popular spot. They said it was "unnecessary fear" but I had kids wading in that water a few days before I saw it. So I feel you, some groups just don't get that a little warning goes a long way.
