A pipe over the wrench handle freed my toughest pedal job
I had a bike with pedals stuck solid from years of use. My pedal wrench wasn't enough to break them free. I remembered a trick: slide a metal pipe over the wrench handle. This gives more leverage without extra tools. I tried it, and the pedal came loose with steady pressure. It's a simple fix that saves time and effort. I now keep a short pipe in my shop for such jobs. It's helped me with many bikes since then.

Used it for years, never stripped a thread.

Sliding a metal pipe over the wrench might seem smart, but it often causes more problems. In my experience, that extra force can strip the pedal threads or bend the wrench. I've seen many cases where this trick led to rounded nuts and broken tools. It turns a stuck pedal into a major repair job. Using penetrating oil and letting it soak is a safer method. A proper long-handle pedal wrench is the right tool for this, not a makeshift pipe.
