Am I the only one who gets annoyed when people don't measure brake cable housing right?

I was helping a friend fix his bike last night and he had like 3 inches of extra housing flopping around near the stem. That messes up shifting and looks terrible. I always cut housing to the exact length needed for a clean run. Does anyone else see this a lot at shops or group rides?

The flopping around near the stem" drives me absolutely nuts too.

drives me absolutely nuts" is right. Have you ever tried cutting that part off completely before cooking? Like does it make any difference or is it still all floppy?

Cutting off the stem end before cooking helps a little, but the leaves themselves still flop once they heat up. The real trick is to use a wider pan so the greens spread out and cook faster instead of steaming in a pile. Letting some butter or oil get hot before adding them also firms up the texture, at least for the part that actually touches the pan.
