Dropped $200 on a wheel truing stand that wobbles like crazy

Bought a Park Tool TS-4 last month because everyone swears by them for home shops. Thing has so much play in the base that my truing is off by at least 2mm every time I spin a wheel. Wish I just saved for the TS-2 or found a used one at a co-op instead. Anybody else have buyers remorse over a 'budget' Park Tool product?

I actually had a TS-4 for about a week. Borrowed my buddy's TS-2 and suddenly my wheels actually came out round. Sold the TS-4 on Craigslist the next day for fifty bucks less than I paid.

Hold on, I gotta push back on this. I've had the TS-4 for two years and it's rock solid for me. Did you bolt the base down to a bench or are you just letting it sit loose on a work surface? Because that's a big thing. All those budget truing stands need to be secured or they'll wiggle around on you. I bet if you take five minutes to clamp or screw it down to a solid bench, that 2mm wobble disappears and it becomes a perfectly fine tool for weekend wrenching. Can you give that a try?
