Hot take: I think a lot of mechanics are way too quick to blame the frame when a headset creaks. Check the crown race seat first.

Fair point, but a creak is just a noise. It doesn't always mean something is about to break. Sometimes you can just ride it out for a while.

Hard disagree man. A creak is never just a noise, it's a warning. Every creak I've ever chased started as a subtle sound and turned into a real problem if I ignored it long enough. Crown race seats can be a cause, sure, but frames do develop stress cracks that start as creaks long before they let go. Riding it out is playing roulette with your fork or frame, and that's a crash waiting to happen. You really want to bet your collarbone on the idea that a random creak is just the headset being fussy?
