I finally stopped using Park Tool chain breakers after 8 years

Always swore by the Park Tool ones because that's what I learned on in Denver at a shop. Then a buddy let me borrow his Pedro's chain tool and it just felt smoother, no stripped pins or bent links. Anyone else had a brand they were loyal to that turned out to be not all that?

Right? Park Tool is like the Craftsman of bike tools-overhyped and underwhelming.

I watched a YouTube video from a mechanic who did this deep dive on Park Tool's headset press kit, and he found out it's basically just a threaded rod with some cheap aluminum cups for like 80 bucks. Meanwhile you can get the same exact thing from a random Amazon brand for 20 bucks and it works just as well lol. I remember he even tested the tolerance with a caliper and there was barely any difference. It's wild how much they get away with just because they have that blue and white logo plastered everywhere. The only thing I'd still buy from them is maybe their chain checker, but even that's getting pricier every year.
