Just realized my pressure washer was set too high at the car wash off 19th street
I was at the DIY car wash on 19th last weekend blasting the dirt off my frame and I noticed the paint was starting to chip near the dropouts. Turns out I had the nozzle on the turbo setting at 2000 PSI instead of the wide fan I thought. A guy in the bay next to me yelled over that I was basically sandblasting my own bike. Now I keep a little pressure gauge in my tool pouch to check before I spray anything. Has anyone else wrecked a paint job like that or am I the only one?

Stop babying your bike. A 2000 PSI wash gets into every hidden crevice and blows out packed mud and grease that a weak spray just smears around. Your paint chipping means you had bubbles hiding under there anyway, not that the pressure washer ruined a perfect finish.
