Question about a rusty seatpost trick that actually worked after I tried everything else
I had a steel frame with an aluminum seatpost stuck so bad it might as well have been welded. After soaking it in PB Blaster for a week and trying the usual twist and swear method, I flipped the bike upside down and poured boiling water down the seat tube, then hit the post with ice. Ten minutes later it popped loose with a strap wrench. I know it sounds like a dumb YouTube hack, but the thermal shock did what two days of cursing couldn't. Has anyone else tried this on a frame with a stuck bottom bracket, or am I just lucky it didn't crack?
