That cheap brake bleed kit cost me a full hydraulic system

Picked up a 25 dollar bleed kit off Amazon to save a shop visit on my MTB. The fittings stripped after one use and the hose cracked during the bleed, so I finished the job with brake fluid all over my garage floor. Took it to my local shop in Portland and they said air got into the lever, which killed the master cylinder. New lever and caliper rebuild ran me 180 bucks plus labor. Has anyone else gotten burned by bargain bleed kits or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?

Air got into the lever" is exactly what happened to me on the same kind of cheap setup. I used to swear by buying the cheapest tools, but this one changed my mind real quick. Now I just pay a shop to do it, way less headache.
