Why nobody warns you about cheap chain tools

Honestly I spent $12 on a no-name chain breaker off Amazon and it basically wrecked my chain after three uses. The pin snapped clean off and gouged the side plate on my brand new SRAM chain. Had to buy a whole new chain and a proper Park Tool breaker for $45. Tbh that $12 tool ended up costing me over $100 in parts and frustration. Has anyone else had a cheap tool suddenly fail on them mid-job?

Nah but I had a cheap torque wrench that was just lying to me the whole time. False confidence is its own kind of explosion.
