TIL shifting two gears before a red light in Denver cut my knee pain in half
I was grinding up Speer Blvd every morning and my knees were killing me, then a mechanic at a shop on Broadway told me to drop to the small ring way before I actually stop. Sounds dumb but after 2 weeks the ache is basically gone, anyone else do this or am I just late to the party?
Wait, are you shifting both gears at once or just dropping to the small ring up front? Cause the small ring alone doesn't really change your knee angle much, it's the bigger cogs in the back that let you spin easier. Maybe it's just me but I bet what actually helped is you stopped pushing such a hard gear up that hill every morning.
