Dropped $45 on a complete box set that had the last disc scratched

Found a deal on eBay for the full run of a 90s show I've been meaning to watch, but disc 6 skips every 10 minutes. Anyone else have luck getting partial refunds from sellers for this kind of thing?

Bought a "mint" DVD set once that looked like someone used it as a coaster.

Ugh, I hate that. "Mint" means nothing on eBay or anywhere else anymore, it's just a word people throw around. Had a guy sell me a "like new" game that had a sticky soda ring on the disc. Seriously, how hard is it to just be honest about the condition?
