Gave The Wire a real shot and honestly didn't get the hype

I kept hearing everyone say it's the best show ever made so I sat through 9 episodes last month. To me it just felt slow and the characters weren't that interesting. Maybe I'm missing something but I'd rather watch something with a faster pace. Is there a certain point where it picks up or am I just not the target audience?

Wait wait wait you sat through NINE EPISODES and still think it's slow? That is INSANE to me. The show is literally perfect from episode one.

@roberts.jordan I gotta disagree hard on this one. Nine episodes is plenty of time to figure out if a show clicks for you. Calling it perfect from episode one is wild when the first few are clearly setting everything up.
