I finally gave in and watched that show everyone was talking about three years ago

My buddy kept telling me to watch 'The Expanse' back in 2021, but I never got around to it. I was stuck at home with a bad cold last month and decided to give the first episode a shot. Six hours later, I was halfway through season one and ordering pizza because I couldn't stop. The way they built that world, with the Belters and the politics, just pulled me right in. I finished all six seasons in about two weeks, which is crazy for me. I think I watched four episodes in one sitting on a Tuesday night. Has anyone else had a show they ignored for years that completely hooked them when they finally tried it?

The Expanse was actually the opposite for me, I tried it in 2019 and dropped it after five episodes. The pacing felt way too slow and I couldn't get into the characters. I know it has a huge fan base and the world building is deep, but that kind of political sci-fi just doesn't click for me. I'm glad you found a show you love that much, but I've accepted it's not my thing.

Yeah the "couldn't stop" thing is so real. I did that with Breaking Bad like a decade after it ended. My ex kept telling me it was boring and about a teacher, so I never bothered. Then one weekend I was bored and put on the first episode. I ended up calling off work Monday because I was on season three and needed to see what happened with the bathtub. My boss was pissed but I had to know.
