Showerthought: I gave up on 'The Bear' after one episode but my friend made me watch season two

I tried the first episode a year ago and turned it off. It felt too loud and stressful, like a bad day at work. My friend Sam kept saying, 'Just watch season two, trust me.' So last weekend, I did. I skipped right to it. The change was huge. The first season is all about the chaos, but the second one is about building something good. There's an episode where they go to Copenhagen that is just beautiful and quiet. It made me see the whole show in a new way. The stress in season one has a point, it sets up the payoff. Has anyone else had a show they hated at first but a later season totally fixed it for them?

Yeah, the whole 'skip to the good part' thing is real. I did it with The Office, honestly. The first season is so cringey and mean, it's hard to watch. But once it finds its heart in season two, with episodes like the Christmas party where Jim gives Pam the teapot, it becomes a totally different (and way better) show. It's like the writers needed that rough start to figure out who these people really were.

Totally get that. I almost quit Parks and Rec after season one, but my roommate made me push through. The tone shift after that was a total game changer. What other shows have you tried that with?

Honestly, The Good Place. The first few episodes felt kinda gimmicky, like a weird ethics lesson. But when that big twist at the end of season one hits, it completely rewires the whole show. It goes from a silly heaven joke to this deep, smart story about what it means to be a person. The rules change and everything gets way more interesting.
