Can we talk about the moment you realized a 'mistake' was actually a new technique?
I was trying to forge a leaf scroll for a gate in my backyard three years ago and accidentally let the tip of the iron get way too thin before bending it. Instead of cracking, it just coiled into this perfect, tight spiral I could never get on purpose. Has anyone else stumbled into a better method by messing up a basic step?

Totally saw a video about that with pottery glazes once!

Yeah, that glaze video was a game changer. Following their exact mixing ratio finally got my colors to turn out right.

Had a buddy who was welding a garden trellis. He got distracted by his dog barking and accidentally held the torch too long on one joint. Melted it all into this goopy mess. He was about to scrap it, then let it cool and realized it looked like a weird organic tree branch. Now he does that on purpose for all his outdoor pieces.
