My Etsy shop got shut down by a bot over a 2 dollar keychain, and I picked email over calling
Last Tuesday I woke up to an email saying my Etsy shop was suspended for 'unusual activity' and it turned out a bot flagged my handmade leather keychains as counterfeit. I had to pick between firing off a reply email to their support or calling their seller line, and I went with email because I figured I could send photos of my workbench and receipts from the tannery in Knoxville. Three days went by with nothing but a canned auto reply, so I finally called and got a real person in 11 minutes who fixed it on the spot. The whole thing started because I sold 14 keychains in one weekend and the sudden jump tripped some fraud filter. What got me was that the bot never looked at a single photo, it just saw my listing and decided I was a reseller. I keep thinking about how many sellers just give up when that first email says no. Has anyone had better luck with the phone line over the message center, or is it just random?
