My Google account got locked for 5 days after I logged into a coffee shop wifi in Austin
I was in Austin for a work trip and logged into my Gmail at a coffee shop on South Congress, and 20 minutes later Google locked me out and flagged "suspicious activity." It took 5 days and two failed recovery attempts before a real person unlocked it, and the automated replies kept telling me my info "didn't match." Did a new city or public wifi ever set off a lockout for you, and how did you get your account back?
Noticed this happens with everything now, not just Google. Your bank, your phone, your email, all these systems decide you're a stranger the second you step somewhere new, and the fix is always some robot telling you your own life info is wrong. Feels like the more connected everything gets, the less any of it actually knows us.
