Can we talk about the guy who taught me how to shuffle at the Portland game cafe?

I was there last month, trying to shuffle my new deck of cards and making a huge mess, when this older guy at the next table leaned over. He just said, 'Here, let me show you the bridge,' and spent ten minutes teaching me without making me feel dumb. What's the nicest thing a stranger has done for you at a game night?

Remember thinking game nights were just for winning until a guy at a coffee shop saw me struggling to learn Cribbage. He walked over, sat down, and played three full hands just to teach me the rules. Honestly changed my whole view on why people get together to play. Tbh that kind of patience from a stranger is way cooler than any victory.

Totally get that feeling. @alicelopez is right, it's not about winning. That said, the move is actually called a riffle shuffle, the bridge is just the cool part at the end where the cards fall together.
