Dice tower collapse ruined our campaign finale in Austin

We were 6 hours into a 3-session finale at a friend's place near Riverside. The tower buckled mid-roll, catapulted the d20 across the table, knocked over a soda, and landed on the one map tile that decided the boss fight. HP tracking went sideways. We spent 20 minutes re-enacting the roll from memory and arguing about whether it bounced off the chip bowl. Ended up agreeing on a reroll and the bad guy won. Has anyone else had a physical component fail at the worst possible moment?
