Finally caught my dice tower eating my dice rolls
Was at a friend's place in Austin last Friday for our weekly game night. My D20 kept landing on the same low numbers, like 4 out of 7 rolls under 5. Turns out the tower had a warped interior baffle from someone setting a drink on it. I opened it up, bent the cardboard back into place, and suddenly rolled a 19 on my next check. Has anyone else had a tower or tray mess with their luck more than the dice themselves?

...and honestly the real culprit might be the table itself, not the tower. If the table is even slightly warped or has a soft spot, the dice can land with less bounce and settle into the same low numbers. People always blame the dice or the tower, but I've seen a cheap folding table with a dip in the middle turn a perfectly balanced set into a one-number machine. You fixed the baffle, sure, but did you check if the tower was sitting level on the table? A tiny tilt changes the whole drop angle, and that can mess with rolls way more than a bent piece of cardboard. Next time you're at that friend's place, slide a coaster under one leg of the table and see what happens, I'd bet money on it.
