Finally cracked the Terraforming Mars rule I kept butchering for months
Took me six game nights to realize I was paying for oceans wrong, everyone just nodded along until my brother-in-law finally checked the manual last Tuesday. Has anyone else played a game wrong for ages and only caught it by accident?
Watched my buddy play Settlers of Catan for two solid years thinking you had to roll a seven to get resources from your numbers. His wife finally asked why he never collected on eights and nines and he just shrugged and said the game was rigged. Six months of family game nights where he'd sit there with two sheep and a dream while everyone else built cities. When they checked the book he went real quiet and then played the rest of the night like a man possessed. Now he brings it up at every cookout like he's the one who cracked the code.
