Heard a kid at the game store say 'I'm not good at this one yet' about a new game

It was a nice reminder that the goal is to learn and have fun, not just win right away. How do you all handle teaching games to new players to keep that feeling going?

That "not good at this yet" mindset is something I try to bring to all kinds of learning, not just games. It helps to point out your own mistakes when teaching someone, so they see it's a normal part of the process. That takes the pressure off and keeps the focus on the fun of figuring things out together.

Wait, a kid at a game store was just... okay with not being good yet? That's wild. Most folks I see just get mad and quit.
