Hot take: I used to win Catan by begging for trades, now I just sit there and hoard wheat
Back in 2019 at a game night in my buddy Dev's garage, I talked three people into feeding me ore so I could sneak out a longest road win. These days I keep a literal tally sheet and refuse to trade with anyone sitting on 8 or more resource cards, which worked great until my sister flipped the board at Thanksgiving. Turns out being the "nice trader" and being the guy nobody wants to play with are two different things, and I'm still not sure which one I am. Does anyone else have a house rule that quietly turned them into the villain of their own game group?
