My 6 player Twilight Imperium group in Austin lost a guy to a new job and we are trying to figure out how to keep going
Three weeks ago our Twilight Imperium group lost one of our six players because he took a job in another state. We had been playing every other Sunday for almost two years at my place in Austin, usually starting around noon and going until 9 or 10 at night. Now we are down to five, and honestly that changes the whole table. We tried a five player game two Sundays back and it felt off. Two of the strategy cards never got picked, the map was lopsided, and the guy who usually plays Jol-Nar just steamrolled because nobody was sitting next to him to keep him honest. We talked about adding a sixth from the local game store meetup, but nobody wants to bring in a random who might slow the game down or take it too serious. Has anyone here rebuilt a long running group after someone moved away, and did you fill the seat or just switch to a different game that works better at five?
