My Catan group kept stalling on trades until we tried a 60 second sand timer
Every game night at my place in Reno turned into 30 minutes of "let me think about it" while four people stared at sheep cards. I grabbed a cheap sand timer from the kitchen drawer and made a rule that if you don't answer a trade within one flip, the offer is dead. Turns out it sped games up to under 90 minutes and cut the whining almost in half. Has anyone else used a timer like this, or does your table just live with the stalling?
