Overheard a teenager explain a board game to his dad, actually got something out of it
At a coffee shop last Saturday I heard this kid maybe 15 years old walk his dad through Spirit Island, and he kept saying things like 'the fear cards are just the game yelling at you to act faster.' It made me realize I've been teaching games wrong for years, I always lead with mechanics and win conditions before anyone cares why they should bother. Anyone else pick up a better way to explain complex games just from watching someone else do it?

Ha! I just explain games like I'm reading the manual out loud. No wonder my friends fake headaches.
