Spent 5 evenings trying to fix a broken rulebook translation

Bought a Korean copy of Spirit Island at a used shop in Chicago and the translation turned "fear" into "terror" in every single card text, took me a week of cross-referencing online forums to figure out what the original designers actually meant.

Yeah that "terror" thing is rough. Had a similar problem with a French copy of Terraforming Mars where they translated "heat" to "chaleur" but also used it for "temperature" on the same card. Drove me nuts. Best tip I got from a board game discord was to make a Google sheet. Column A for the wonky translation, Column B for the original English text from the rulebook PDF. Cross reference every single keyword. Then print out little sticky labels to slap right on the cards. Saves your sanity for the actual game.

That spreadsheet trick saved my group too when we played the German version of Catan.
