Tbh I used to think teaching new players was about explaining every rule first

My friend's kid just looked at me blankly after my 20-minute Ark Nova rules lecture. His dad just set up the board and said 'let's play a round, I'll help you'. The kid got it in five minutes. Anyone else realize they over-explain?
