Tried co-op games with my group for a year and competitive ones wrecked us way worse
We played Pandemic and Forbidden Island for 12 months thinking we'd get along better, but then I brought out Cosmic Encounter and the backstabbing arguments were way more fun than any shared victory, has anyone else found that losing friends over a game actually makes it better?

Wait, you spent a whole year on co-op games? That's wild.

Yeah man totally. I did the same thing back in 2021. Me and @ericp67 were in the same boat I guess, just couldn't stop playing through all the co-op stuff.

You said losing friends over a game makes it better, and I gotta respectfully disagree. In my experience, the arguments from competitive games just bring out the worst in people and leave a bad taste long after the game is over. Take this with a grain of salt, but shared victories in co-op games have built way more trust and laughs in my group than any backstabbing ever did.
