Hydrotest fitting blew out on a 6 inch line in Gary
We were doing a hydrotest on a 6 inch feedwater line outside a plant in Gary last Tuesday, and one of the test plugs let go at around 400 psi before we even hit our target. Water shot everywhere and soaked the whole trench before we could bleed it down, lucky nobody was standing in the wrong spot. Has anyone else had a plug fail like that, or did I just get a bad batch of fittings?

Man that's wild. We had a 4 inch test plug blow on a drain line once and it sounded like a shotgun going off, scared the hell out of the whole crew. Still can't figure out if it was the fitting or just the pipe being old and crusty inside.
