Made a 3/4 inch socket extension to reach a stubborn manway bolt and it saved me an hour
Got called out to a plant near Baton Rouge where a manway cover had a bolt tucked so close to the shell that my 15/16 socket wouldn't seat. I grabbed a 6 inch impact extension from my box, cut it down to 3 inches on the band saw, and welded a cheap 3/4 drive socket on the end. Total cost was about $20 in scrap and it took me 20 minutes to make. Went right in and broke the bolt loose without rounding it. Anyone else keep a stash of homemade stubby tools for tight spots like that?
