Supervisor pointed out my weld prep was too clean, he was right
Boss at the Port Arthur job pulled me aside and said I was burning too much time grinding every joint to mirror finish. He showed me his trick: knock off the heavy scale and rust, leave the light mill scale alone. Cut my prep time by almost half and the welds passed x-ray fine. Anyone else ever get told they're overdoing prep?
