That trick with a zip tie and a crescent wrench for stuck bolts is no joke

Had a flange bolt on a feedwater heater that wouldn't budge after three days of soaking. Wrapped a heavy-duty zip tie around the wrench handle for extra torque (the kind you'd use for bundling conduit) and it cracked loose on the first real pull. What's your go-to for frozen hardware when you're up against the clock?

Man, that zip tie trick is a lifesaver. Had a similar fight with a rusted caliper bracket bolt on my truck last fall. After the breaker bar just flexed, I looped a couple of those thick black ties around the handle for a better grip and more swing. Felt like cheating when it finally broke loose. For really bad cases, a mix of heat from a small torch and that wax-based penetrating oil seems to work when the usual stuff fails.

Honestly, it's all about clever little force multipliers.

oh man absolutely lol, that zip tie trick is pure gold. i had this one axle nut on an old farm truck that was basically welded on by rust and time, tried the heat and soak routine for a full day then wrapped a couple of those heavy duty zip ties around a 3/4" drive breaker bar, gave it a quick sharp yank and it popped loose with this horrible screech, scared the hell out of me but it worked. also found that a little propane torch to get the bolt hot then hitting it with a wax stick like a candle actually works way better than any spray for me, the wax pulls right into the threads when it cools.
