Book club picked a 900 page slog and I said so out loud
We met at Dana's place in Portland two weeks ago to vote on the next pick and everyone wanted the giant doorstopper that won a prize, so I asked who actually finished the last one we tried and the room went quiet. Then I brought a one page list of six books under 300 pages and we went with a short one instead, and turnout at the next meeting was the best we have had in a year. Is it worth splitting into two clubs, one for the big books and one for the quick reads?
