Man, this is such a real thing and it happens everywhere, not just book clubs. Like at work, somebody keeps picking the lunch spot and everyone hates it but nobody says a word for two years. Or the group chat where one person only posts weather updates and we all just... let it happen. Doreen is the hero here because she said the thing everyone was already thinking but was too polite to bring up. We all need a Doreen in our lives honestly. The weird part is that the person doing the annoying thing usually has no idea until someone finally snaps. So good on you for actually listening instead of getting defensive.
