My $80 Kindle purchase turned into a paperweight in three months

Bought a refurbished Kindle off a random site to save money for book club picks, and now the screen's frozen solid. Anyone else get burned buying cheap hardware for reading groups?

Stuck with my old Kindle Paperwhite now" - that's fair but some of us dont have that kind of luck with tech lasting years.

Bought a cheap tablet last year for $40 and the battery swelled up after two months. Stuck with my old Kindle Paperwhite now - had it since 2018 and it still works fine. Sometimes saving money upfront just costs you more in the long run.
